
Railway Station of the year 2009!
The Main Station in Erfurt has been voted 'Railway Station of the year 2009'. The jury praised above all the brilliant steel and glass construction, which overarches the listed station building and floods the train shed with bright daylight. The direct connection between tramway and rail station, and the pleasant ambience are also specially mentioned.

1. Place Comprehensive School, Quickborn Germany
At the end of April 2009 the contract for the new contstruction of the comprehensive school was awarded to Ed. Züblin AG. As the responsible architects for this tender procedure, we were significantly involved in its success.

Topping-out ceremony in Potsdam
The laying of the foundation stone took place in october 2008; with the topping-out ceremony for the Finance Ministry in Potsdam following on 25th of march 2009!

New adress for the Berlin Office since 20th march 2009
After our successful move from Rolandufer to the Alte Jakobstrasse 85/86 in central Berlin, we had good reason to celebrate.

For the 'meravis Wohnungsbau und Immobilien GmbH' we are planning three exclusive residential buildings nearby the Blankenese Railway Station.

Official Opening Main Station Erfurt
After a seven year construction period, the official opening of the new Main Station in Erfurt took place on December 13 2008 in the presence of the Federal Minister of Transport and other representatives of the government and of German Railways,.
Careful programming of the various construction phases - like the listed reception building, the transparent railway shed, the shopping mall, underground parking and railway underpass - allowed normal rail service to continue unimpaired.
Laying the foundation stone for the new Finance Ministry in Potsdam
The cornerstone was placed for the new ministry in the presence of Finance Minister Rainer Speer. As the first government building in the state of Brandenburg to be built as a result of a public private partnership (PPP), the minister described the building as being both an example of “Prussian understatement,” and “a strikeing red structure with a watchful eye.”
Martin Kreienbaum added the notarial register to the cornerstone before it was sealed as an offering and good luck charm.

Awards Ceremony
In order to celebrate the publication of the Hamburg Chamber of Architects’ 20th Yearbook, the city’s best architecture of the past 20 years was honored. Awards were given in the following categories: housing, building within the existing fabric, public projects, public space, and office and commercial buildings. Bernhard Goessler was able to take his place on the winner’s podium as the Kathatinenhof was honored in the categorie building within the existing fabric.

Construction of the bicycle station at Kiel’s Main Railway Station.
The construction of the bicycle station at Kiel’s Main Railway Station began with the laying of the foundation stone on 24 July 2008.

1st prize, Wilhelmsburg commuter railway station competition, Hamburg, July 2008
organized by the IBA (International Building Exhibition) Hamburg
The focus of the competition was a concept for the redesign of the Wilhelmsburg commuter railway station and a pedestrian bridge across railway tracks belonging to the commuter train and the main-line railway.
As an entrance to the IBA and the IGA (International Horticultural Exhibition) in 2013, the commuter railway station and pedestrian bridge will play both an important and highly visible role.

1st prize, Copernicus Secondary School, Berlin, June 2008.
We were especially pleased to win the 1st prize, especially considering that our office only began working on the competition after it was already in progress.
The Copernicus Secondary School, which is now located at a variety of different locations, will be relocated to a site which once belonged to the Telefunken electronics complex. The listed buildings, which were part of the McNair Barracks until the 1990s, will be preserved. A new gymnasium with three indoor areas will be built with a special focus on energy efficiency and innovative construction techniques.

Lecture in Ulm
Daniel Kinz has actively taken on the role of the company’s new partner, giving a lecture in Ulm on 25 June 2008.
Together with the city of Ulm, the Deutsche Bahn wants to build a new City-Railway Station. As part of this project the area adjacent to the station will also be improved. In order to inform residents about how other cities have dealt with this issue Ulm’s city government held a public forum in the city hall. At this event Daniel Kinz presented our office’s concept for Erfurt’s Main Railway Station and its surrounding areas.

On 1 January 2008 Daniel Kinz was retroactively made the third partner at Gössler Kreienbaum Architects BDA. The office now operates under the name of Gössler Kinz Kreienbaum Architects BDA.
1st place, Dietrich Bonhoeffer Secondary School in Quickborn
Our office was awarded a contract for the expansion and redevelopment of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Secondary School after taking part in an EU-wide negotiated procedure.
The annex creates a new center and central circulation system for the school complex. Among other things, a new cafeteria and foyer with an entrance to the auditorium will be built.

Lecture at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2008 in Amsterdam
Christopher Eckett, who manages our Berlin office, gave a lecture about our numerous transportation projects at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam in April 2008.
1st place, public private partnership procedure for the Brandenburg State Finance Ministry, Potsdam
In the spring of 2008 the Züblin Development GmbH was awarded a contract for the construction of the Brandenburg State Finance Ministry in Potsdam. Our office is responsible for the architectural design and planning of the project. The new building will be the first government building in the state of Brandenburg to be built as a result of a public private partnership.
